Brenna Kallod

A native of North Dakota, is a sophomore at Coastal Carolina University and is majoring in music performance. She is involved in many music ensembles at Coastal, a few campus organizations, and is a Research Fellow for the Edwards College. Brenna enjoys all things music, spending time with family and friends, traveling, trips to Target and ice cream.


Bo Taylor

Bo Taylor is a freshman from Rock Hill, South Carolina.  He plays catcher and outfield on CCU’s baseball team.  He is a very outgoing guy who lives for Jesus.  If you see Bo on campus, he is always open to talk about life & God. 


Emma VanDeVelde

Is a junior at CCU majoring in musical theater. At Christ United, she helps out (and occasionally appears on stage) in The Big House. Emma has a particular calling to ministering within the performing arts world and in women's ministry. She is on the leadership team and a founding member of the Delight Women's Ministry chapter at CCU. She can't wait to see what the Lord is going to do in and through Refuge this year! 



Kaylea Gassaway

Kaylea Gassaway is a Senior Management major from Pamplico, S.C. She is an honor student a member of the Wall Fellows Program, Class of 2018. She is also involved in Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Student Executive Leadership and she is also a founding member of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity. Kaylea grew up in church but has been in ministry since she was 14 years old. Her passion is people and loves to help others. After graduation, Kaylea hopes to attend Coastal to obtain her M.B.A in Business Administration and continue serving in her home church.


Kylie Blevins

Is a Junior, Middle Level Education major with a heart for Gods children, and a fierce desire to minister to them across the globe after college. She was raised in a small county of Southern Maryland, and relocated to SC her freshman year to pursue a degree at Coastal Carolina University. Kylie is also very passionate about literature, and as an English minor you can find her reading or writing in her spare time.  She also writes for the Odyssey community at CCU. Most importantly, Kylie is a devote follower of Christ, and dedicated to spreading his love throughout creation. 


Taylor Koppel

Is a student at Coastal Carolina University studying Computer Science.  He is a long-time resident of the Myrtle Beach area where he enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing music, wake boarding, anything active, and serving others.    He is also a U.S. Army Reservist where he is afforded the opportunity to serve his country which is important to him.  His main focus is worship within the ministry, he plays guitar and drums.  He has a deep desire to see his peers come to know Jesus in authentic ways.  He is serious about building relationships with others to strengthen them and himself along the way through real friendship. 


Rachel Byrd

Is a senior from Powhatan, Va majoring in Psychology.  She runs cross-country and track for the Chanticleers.  She is also the FCA president and is a member of the SAAC.  Her passion to serve others has led her to pursuing Ministry after she graduates in May.
